The richly carved front panel is deeply carved and decorated with so-called compass roses, motifs often used in folk art as symbols to ward off evil influences. The chest has been carefully inspected, and any old, sporadic signs of woodworm have been treated. It has been finished with a natural layer of beeswax, preserving its aged character and beautiful patina. 34 cm high, 104 cm wide, 44 cm deep.12 See less
