This elegant vintage porcelain cup and saucer duo set was manufactured by the world-renowned Meissen Porcelain Manufactory in Germany during the 20th Century. Crafted in the classic, wavy Neuer Ausschnitt (New Cutout) form, it showcases Meissen's legendary hand-painted botanical artistry (Bunte Blumenmalerei).
The focal point of the set is a masterfully detailed, vibrant blue Crocus / Iris flower accompanied by delicate scattered blue forget-me-not style field blossoms (Streublumen). Every leaf and petal is individually hand-painted, displaying beautiful color gradients. The scalloped rims and the gracefully curved, ornate handle of the cup are richly accented with a fine, genuine gold gilt trim.
The underside bears the underglaze blue Meissen Crossed Swords mark. Due to minor factory irregularities in the porcelain body or glaze during firing, the mark features two cancellation lines, designating it as official factory 2nd Choice / 2. Wahl.
