An elegant Art Deco dinner service comprising three pieces of fine earthenware from the renowned Italian manufacturer Richard Ginori, including a covered tureen, a large salad bowl, and a covered sugar bowl or creamer with a saucer.
The service features a clean, creamy-white design adorned with a geometric motif of a stylized arrow in burgundy, and is catalogued as "freccia."
Marks on the underside date this set to 1932-1933, a pivotal period marking the end of the artistic direction of the great modernist designer and architect Gio Ponti.
In 1923, the Richard Ginori factory, founded in Milan in 1735, entrusted its artistic direction to the young architect Gio Ponti.
For ten years, he revolutionized Italian ceramics by combining clean lines with avant-garde geometric and graphic motifs.
This marks the birth of Italian Art Deco industrial design.
