A quintessential example of mid-century modern Italian studio art pottery, this whimsical, brutalist-style ceramic sculpture features a vertical family stack of four cascading elephants. Designed by master ceramicist Ivo De Santis for his Florence-based workshop, Gli Etruschi, this iconic form captures the playful yet textured aesthetic prized by MCM collectors.
The sculpture boasts a vibrant, thick dripping glaze in glossy orange-red that sits dramatically over a raw, matte yellow-green washed under-slip body. A rare added bonus for collectors, this piece retains its original foil import label reading "Created in Italy for Rosenthal-Netter, Inc."
