For consideration is a spectacular triptych collection of three (3) matching original mid-century mixed-media paintings by French-American modernist master Charles Cobelle (1902–1994). Reflecting his Post-War School of Paris influence, these large-scale masterpieces are 100% hand-painted original works on paper layering fluid watercolor blooms, rich opaque gouache, and spontaneous calligraphic black India ink linework.
Collection Layout & Identification:
Designed and framed to hang as a synchronized, single-wall architectural gallery installation:
• EXHIBIT 1: "Lovers in Paris" - Portrait (Vertical) orientation. Left flanking wing.
• EXHIBIT 2: "Musicians and Performers” - Portrait (Vertical) orientation. Right flanking wing.
• EXHIBIT 3: "Equestrian Lovers” - Landscape (Horizontal) orientation. Sweeping central panoramic anchor.
Studio Provenance:
All three pieces feature a rare, matching handwritten dedication from the artist along the lower margins, reading "To my friend •DANNY• from Cobelle" (Exhibits 1 & 2) and "To my friend DAN from Cobelle" (Exhibit 3). Under extreme macro inspection, the liquid ink overlays the watercolor base and pencil layout lines, confirming an ironclad direct-from-studio lineage.
Archival Presentation & Framing:
Sourced from a prominent local estate in Las Vegas, Nevada, these pieces were carefully removed from their deteriorating legacy frames and fully stabilized using professional archival materials:
• Housed in brand-new, contemporary Solid Wood Black gallery frames (24"x36" footprint).
• Suspended via fully reversible top-edge hinge mounts using Lineco archival linen tape, protecting the paper tooth and allowing it to expand naturally.
• Backed with a rigid, 3/16" Acid-Free Conservation Foam Backing Board.
• Completely dust-sealed to the reverse frame miter channels using professional Lineco Framing Tape.
• Glazing: Standard shatter-resistant organic glass (plexiglass) as supplied by the frame manufacturer. Provides excellent clarity and ensures safe, lightweight parcel shipping.
Specifications (Per Framed Piece):
• Artist: Charles Cobelle (Hand-Signed / Inscribed)
• Total Artworks: 3 Pieces (Sold ONLY as a Cohesive Architectural Triptych)
• Medium: Watercolor, Gouache, and India Ink on Paper
• Physical Paper Size: 35" x 23.5" each (Exhibit 3 rotated horizontally to 23.5" x 35")

• Solid Wood Frame Dimensions: 24" x 36" each (Exhibit 3 center spans 36"x24")
Shipping & Packaging Standards:
To guarantee safe transit, this triptych is securely pre-packaged using a heavy-duty box-in-a-box system:

• Structural Core: The boxes are stacked and locked into a single rigid unit using industrial cardboard corner protectors.
• Outer Layer: The entire reinforced stack is floated snugly inside a double-walled 39" x 27.5" x 4" Mirror/TV box.

The watercolor, gouache, and India ink pigments remain incredibly bright, fresh, and visually crisp across all three sheets. The raw paper fibers are structurally stable and free of tears or water stains. Honest Vintage Patina: To maintain absolute transparency, Exhibit 1 ("Lovers") displays light, localized, and uniform age-related organic foxing (small vintage spotting) near the lower edge signature margin. Rather than distracting from the image, this natural oxidation offers un-falsifiable proof of its mid-century chronology and hand-painted authenticity. Exhibits 2 and 3 are pristine and clean. Custom Frames & Glazing: Flawless, brand-new condition. less
