Its wide outer border is hammered gilt metal with a warm, aged patina, decorated with a ring of small loops and beaded drops, and edged with twisted rope wire. At the center, a circular panel holds a finely detailed micromosaic of a colorful bird perched among green olive leaves, set against a field of tiny white glass tesserae. Surrounding it, a band of dark metal frames four curved panels of blue, red, and white diamond patterns, alternating with four blue medallions, each bearing a white star.
