Featuring polished brass and glass elements, these sconces boast a stunning looping ribbon form—a testament to Leleu’s ability to blend opulence with meticulous design. The sconces’ defining feature is their looping ribbon motif, masterfully rendered in polished brass. This highly sculptural form radiates sophistication, evoking movement and lightness while maintaining a bold presence on the wall. The fluid, dynamic curvature of the brass creates a sense of rhythm, while its brilliant, reflective surface adds warmth and luxury to the composition. Nestled harmoniously within the ribbons are glass discs, each carefully positioned to diffuse light and create a soft, glowing ambiance. The glass discs, with their clean, minimalist aesthetic, contrast beautifully with the richness of the brass, embodying the Art Deco emphasis on combining contrasting textures and materials to achieve visual depth. These sconces are an exquisite example of Jules Leleu's mastery of proportion and balance, where every detail is considered. They reflect the restrained sophistication of the later Art Deco period, where geometric and sculptural forms took precedence over excessive ornamentation, focusing instead on timeless elegance. This pair of sconces remains as stylish and impactful today as they were nearly a century ago. Perfect for adding a touch of Parisian glamour to a living room, dining area, or entryway, they seamlessly bridge the gap between functional lighting and decorative art. For collectors and admirers of 20th-century French design, these sconces offer an extraordinary opportunity to own an iconic piece by one of the most celebrated designers of the era.
