Framed Oil on Canvas | circa 1980 | R. Audry
A refined still life in oil on canvas by R. Audry, depicting a classical arrangement of a mortar and pestle resting atop a stack of leather-bound books. The realist composition highlights the warm tones of the bindings and the soft sheen of the vessel against a dark, atmospheric background. Signature to lower left and inscribed “R. Audry 80” on the reverse. The work is presented in an ornate gilt frame with visible reb bole over the foliate carved decoration.

The oil painting itself shows excellent color preservation and no obvious signs of surface cracking, paint loss, or warping. The ornate gold and red wooden frame is structurally sound, though it exhibits intentional antiquing and minor age-related wear, which adds to its classic character. less
