Its Story
The artist is guided by the character of the reclaimed oak pieces, creating a harmonious whole that reflects the wood's unique history.
The surface is hand-carved down to the sound wood, shaping irregularities—signs of time—and a relief reminiscent of waves. The entire piece is then charred to achieve a deep black hue with coppery undertones.
A final treatment with tung oil adds a soft, tactile patina.
This piece was exhibited at Paris Design Week 2026 in the gardens of the Palais Royal.
