Elegant, handcrafted daybed made of solid teak, crafted in Denmark in the 1960s. This piece of furniture embodies all the qualities of Danish Modern: a minimalist, clean design, meticulous craftsmanship, and an attention to detail that reveals its full sophistication only upon closer inspection. The frame rests on round legs that taper gently at the top and bottom, giving the daybed a floating lightness. The beautifully shaped support frame holds a slatted base with pentagonal slats – an exceptional detail. The connection between the slats and the supporting structure is particularly successful: the visible joints are evenly spaced, lending the bed a calm, almost musical rhythm. The solid teak displays a warm grain and a beautiful patina that has developed over decades. The cushion consists of a new foam insert covered in a high-quality bouclé fabric from Sahco (Kvadrat) in a warm teddy brown. The soft, textured fabric provides a beautiful contrast to the teak wood. Whether used as a daybed, chaise lounge, sofa, or child's bed, this piece of furniture is versatile. Two identical units are available, which can also be used together as a pair.

Condition: Very good vintage condition – the solid teak wood is in beautiful condition with a wonderful, natural patina, and the cushion has been reupholstered. A rare piece of Danish craftsmanship for stylish living and sleeping areas. See less
