with the HAY Can, you're getting a sofa that deliberately aims for uncomplicated comfort. French designer brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec wanted to reimagine the sofa, moving away from complicated upholstered furniture towards something simple and relaxed. The name says it all: "Can" stands for "you can," meaning a sofa where you can simply feel comfortable without worrying about every spilled glass. The concept is clear: A slender frame made of black tubular steel supports a sturdy canvas cover, topped with soft seat, back, and arm cushions. The cognac-colored leather is edged with dark leather piping, creating a look that is both warm and casual. Because the sofa consists of only a few elements, it can be disassembled and easily transported when moving.
