This is what makes the LamPetit so useful. Both the head and the base can be turned and extended into many positions, so one compact lamp works as a desk lamp, bedside lamp or wall lamp. Its small, geometric, boxy shape is pure Danish design from the 1960s and 70s.

The name is a small piece of design history. “Lampetit” is the Finnish word for wall lamp, which is what the lamp was originally intended to be, and there is a recess on the underside for wall mounting. In French, “lampe petite” simply means small lamp.

Its small size and adjustable arms suit a bedside table, a compact desk, a bookshelf or a wall in a small room. Because the head tilts and extends, you can use it for focused reading light or for soft accent light against a wall This piece has an attribution mark,
