Wegner and presumably manufactured in denmark in the 1970s. Wegner is one of the most important furniture designers of the 20th century and shaped danish modern like few others. The table follows in the tradition of his dining table designs from the 1960s, which also include the ch337, still produced today by carl hansen & søn: compact enough for four people and extendable to seat up to eight with two extension leaves. The harmonious, round tabletop, resting on tapered legs, is particularly appealing. Wegner's flair for construction is evident beneath the table: the frame is meticulously crafted and becomes a design element in its own right. Beautiful accent screws on the legs add a refined, handcrafted detail and underscore the honest approach to materials and joinery. The table has been completely restored and treated with hard wax oil, which gives the solid oak a warm, golden tone. The two extension leaves were newly crafted in the same wood tone and blend seamlessly into the overall design.

condition: very good condition – completely restored, treated with hard wax oil, including two newly crafted extension leaves. A timeless classic of danish design history for stylish dining areas.

dimensions: approx. Ø 119 × 70 cm (ø 46.9" × 27.6") diameter × height with two extension leaves of 50 cm each – total length extended: approx. 219cm (86.2")

beautifully shaped round extendable dining table in solid oak, designed by hans j. Wegner and presumably made in denmark in the 1970s. Wegner is one of the most important furniture designers of the 20th century and shaped danish modern like hardly anyone else. The table follows the tradition of his dining table designs of the 1960s, which also include the ch337 still produced by carl hansen & søn today: compact enough for four and extendable with two leaves to seat up to eight. Particularly appealing is the harmonious round top, resting on elegantly tapered legs. Beneath the table, wegner's sense for construction becomes visible: the apron is carefully articulated and becomes a design element in its own right. Beautiful accent screws on the legs add a fine, crafted detail and underline the honest treatment of material and joinery. The table has been fully restored and treated with hardwax oil, giving the solid oak a warm, golden tone. Both extension leaves have been newly made in the same wood tone and blend seamlessly into the overall look.
