A frame made of delicate steel struts, constructed from triangles, supports a wafer-thin round tabletop. A pattern of fine slits is laser-cut into the tabletop, echoing the lines of the frame. This makes the tabletop appear to almost float above the floor. The matte black finish keeps the design graphic and clean, and depending on the light, the slit pattern casts subtle shadows on the floor. For this interplay of form and function, the joco was awarded the red dot design award in 2010. As a low coffee table, it fits equally well in front of a sofa or in a reading nook.
