First-Quality Meissen Porcelain Mocca / Espresso Cup & Saucer, 'Indisch Orient' Pattern, 1950s
An exceptional, first-quality fine porcelain mocca (espresso) cup and matching saucer duo crafted by the renowned Meissen porcelain manufactory in Germany. This exquisite set is adorned with the vibrant and highly sought-after 'Indisch Orient' (Oriental / Chinoiserie Indian Pattern) decor. The pattern features stylized exotic lotus blossoms and vines hand-painted in striking shades of burnt orange, cobalt blue, and rich green, accompanied by a traditional stylized insect motif on both pieces.
Crafted in the elegant, scalloped 'Neuer Ausschnitt' shape, the set features fine, hand-applied genuine gold rims. The cup is fitted with an elegant, gold-accented scrolled loop handle. Meissen's Indian patterns draw direct inspiration from historic 18th-century East Asian imports, celebrating the pinnacle of European porcelain art.
