Fine Meissen Porcelain Demitasse Mokka Cup & Saucer Duo — 1st Choice (1953)
This exquisite mid-century porcelain cup and saucer duo (mokka/espresso size) is crafted by the prestigious Meissen Porcelain Manufactory in Germany. It features the highly sought-after "Indian Painting Coral Red" (Indische Korallenrot Malerei, pattern no. 351510) motif. The rich, vibrant design is entirely hand-painted in shades of iron/coral red and lavishly embellished with fine 24-karat gold dots and a polished gold rim.
The set is modeled in the iconic "New Cutout" (Neuer Ausschnitt) shape, recognized by its elegant, scrolling handle and beautifully scalloped borders.
Authentication & Marks:
Both pieces are fully authenticated with the underglaze blue Meissen crossed swords mark, confirming them as 1st choice / 1. Wahl quality (no factory cancellation slashes). The year code mark on the saucer precisely dates the production to 1953. Hand-painted pattern numbers are visible on the base of both items.
Dimensions:
• Cup: Height 5 cm, Diameter 6 cm (Width with handle 8 cm)
• Saucer: Diameter 11 cm
Excellent vintage condition. The porcelain body is flawless, with no chips, cracks, or restorations. The intricate hand-painted coral red details and 24k gold accents remain exceptionally bright and perfectly preserved. This piece has an attribution mark,
