Vintage Meissen Porcelain Mocca / Espresso Cup & Saucer, 'Weinlaub' Pattern, 1920s-1950s
:
An exquisite porcelain mocca (espresso) cup and matching saucer duo from the world-renowned Meissen manufactory, Germany. The set features the classic and prestigious 'Weinlaub' (Full Green Vine Leaves) pattern, delicately hand-painted in rich underglaze green against a brilliant white hard-paste porcelain body. Both pieces feature the elegant, scalloped 'Neuer Ausschnitt' rim, and the cup is adorned with a beautiful leaf-scrolled handle.
This set is a fascinating combination of two different eras of Meissen's historic production, making it a wonderful conversation piece for collectors.
Creator: Meissen Porcelain Manufactory
Pattern: Weinlaub (Full Green Vine Leaves)
Place of Origin: Germany
Period: Early to Mid-20th Century
Condition Report:
Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, hairline fractures, or restorations. The underglaze green decor remains exceptionally vibrant, and the porcelain retains a high-gloss glaze finish.
Authenticity & Marks Note:
• The Saucer: Features the underglaze blue crossed swords with a distinct dot between the blades, accurately dating it to the highly collectible Pfeiffer Period (1924–1934). It has no grinding slashes, classifying it as First Quality (1. Wahl). It bears the blue painter's mark '75.'.
• The Cup: Features the post-1934 Meissen crossed swords (likely 1950s production) with two incised grinding slashes across the mark, designating it as a factory Second Choice (2. Wahl) due to minor firing or paint variations unnoticeable to the untrained eye. Bears the blue painter's mark '41.'.
A superb, cabinet-ready addition to any high-end European porcelain collection.
Condition Report:
Overall Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition.
• Damage: There are no chips, cracks, hairline fractures, fleabites, or any signs of previous restoration on either piece.

• Decor: The underglaze hand-painted green 'Weinlaub' pattern remains exceptionally vibrant and deep, with no fading or wear.
• Cup Handle & Rims: The delicate leaf-scrolled handle is fully intact and structurally sound. The scalloped rims of both the cup and the saucer are perfectly smooth to the touch with no rough edges.
• Factory Marks Note: As noted in the , the cup features two minor factory incised grinding slashes (indicating 2nd choice / 2. Wahl), which reflects minor production-related anomalies typical for the era, but does not affect the excellent aesthetic and structural display condition of the piece.
