Combining brass and wood, the lamp achieves a refined composition through careful proportion and subtle detailing. The lamp features a broad, gently curved brass shade with a flared profile that tapers inward toward the light source. The shade’s form is designed to direct light downward in a focused yet soft manner, making it suitable for both ambient and task lighting. The brass exhibits a warm golden tone, now enhanced by visible patina, speckling, and minor surface marks acquired through age and use. These signs contribute to the authenticity and vintage character of the piece. The central support is constructed from wood, finished in a smooth, medium-brown tone that reveals a fine natural grain. The stem is slightly angled, introducing a sense of movement and ergonomic consideration to the design. This subtle inclination supports the functional intent of the lamp while maintaining an elegant silhouette. The connection between the wooden stem and the brass components is clean and precise, with no decorative excess, aligning with the minimalist ethos of scandinavian design. The circular brass base mirrors the finish of the shade and anchors the lamp visually and structurally. It maintains the overall harmony of materials and reinforces the lamp’s golden-bronze palette. In terms of condition, the brass has aged naturally, showing light tarnishing and small surface marks without compromising structural integrity or aesthetic appeal. The wooden stem remains in excellent shape, with an even tone and well-preserved finish. Though unsigned, this lamp reflects the design values typical of swedish craftsmanship in the 1950s and 60s—material honesty, visual clarity, and restrained elegance—making it both a functional lighting object and a well-balanced decorative piece.
