An exceptionally beautiful and extremely rare sofa from the 400 series, designed by Hartmut Lohmeyer for Wilkhahn, Germany, around 1960. This elegant piece of furniture is among the finest designs of German Mid-Century Modern and impresses with its harmonious proportions, floating appearance, and sophisticated combination of materials.

The frame is made of dark African teak. The slightly inclined backrest features original rattan weaving, while the seat and back have been reupholstered in the legendary Hallingdal 65 wool fabric by Kvadrat. Designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1965, this fabric was Kvadrat's first textile design and is still considered the archetype of wool upholstery fabric. The interplay of fine wood, delicate weave, and textile surface lends the sofa exceptional depth and timeless elegance.

Condition: Very good overall condition. Upholstery and cover are new. The original weave is in beautiful condition without damage. The wooden parts are sturdy and show only minimal, age-related signs of wear such as small scratches or nicks, which do not detract from its high-quality character.
