About the Artist

The artist of this striking contemporary work remains unidentified. The signature appears to read “F. de Villeneuve,” suggesting a possible connection to French artist Fabrice de Villeneuve (born 1954), whose work includes decorative paintings and embellished canvases. However, the bold, expressive style of this composition differs considerably from his documented body of work, and the attribution remains unconfirmed.

About the Item

This dramatic, oversized zebra portrait combines the graphic beauty of black-and-white stripes with a vibrant crimson-red background, creating a captivating contemporary composition. Measuring an impressive 48" W × 48" H × 1½" D, the work appears to be an embellished giclée on canvas, featuring substantial hand-applied impasto that gives the zebra remarkable texture, dimension, and visual energy. A distinctive border of evenly spaced metallic studs adds an unexpected sculptural element, enhancing the artwork's modern, edgy character. The combination of expressive texture, bold color, and decorative detailing makes this an exceptional statement piece, particularly well-suited to contemporary interiors and luxury residences.
