The figure is elegantly posed in serene repose, its streamlined form rendered in smooth, flowing planes that emphasize sculptural abstraction over anatomical detail. The gold-plated finish adds a luminous, high-polish surface that accentuates the interplay of angular lines and soft curves, giving the piece a dynamic presence even in stillness. The composition masterfully balances compact geometry with gentle fluidity—a tilted head, gracefully extended limbs, and subtly folded planes create a poised yet intimate silhouette. The reflective surface enlivens shallow contours and angular transitions, while the figure’s elongated proportions evoke both modernist elegance and timeless sensuality. Observed from all angles, the sculpture shifts as light interacts with its form, producing a rhythmic interplay between mass and void. Designed by Jaru, a Los Angeles-based studio renowned for its innovative ceramics, this piece embodies the era’s fascination with formal abstraction and decorative functionality. This piece stands as a testament to late-20th-century American craftsmanship, offering a refined statement for both modern and classic interiors. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
