Crafted from a dark, richly grained hardwood with a deep reddish-brown patina, the tray is designed with a raised gallery edge detailed with pierced, stylized cutouts. The top rim is accented with small, evenly spaced dots of light-colored shell inlay, creating an elegant border.

The center of the tray is beautifully decorated with a detailed nature scene. Two birds are perched facing each other on a twisting, gnarled branch adorned with delicate shell blossoms.
