Crafted from a richly grained hardwood with a deep, warm reddish-brown patina, the tray is designed with a raised gallery edge detailed with pierced, stylized cutouts and accented by evenly spaced brass pins.

The center of the tray is decorated with a detailed nature scene, including a small mountain motif and two birds. A large bird with vibrant, iridescent green and purple wing feathers is perched on a gnarled, twisting branch laden with round fruits, looking down toward a smaller bird in flight below. The artisan has utilized various tones of iridescent shell—including bright white, pale yellow, and green—to create the leaves, fruits, and birds against the natural wood background.
