• Title: Nude 3 - handwritten on original verso label with ZB crest • Date: 2005 - signed lower right "AJK 2005" (often misread as 2025 in photos, see close-up) • Medium: Watercolor and blue ink wash on heavy ZB cotton rag paper with embossed ZBC / ZB chop mark lower right • Frame Size: 29" H x 21" W x 36" diagonal (measured with tape, photos 1-2) • Image Size: Approx. 24" H x 16" W visible, large-format torso study - oversized for Krakower Nude series • Frame: Original silver wood frame, glass glazed
Provenance & Condition:
From private California collection. Verso retains original studio label "Arthur Krakower Nude 3" with printed ZB wreath crest. Kraft backing paper with typical age wear and small tears (photos 5-6), backing retains thrift estate mark. Artwork itself in good vintage condition, colors fresh, no foxing, signature crisp. Glass with light surface wear.
Comparable large-format figurative works by Krakower. This example offers large scale and intact studio provenance.

Artwork: Original watercolor and blue ink on heavy ZB cotton paper. Colors fresh - warm taupe/gray wash with blue linework, no fading, no foxing, no stains to image. Paper flat, no buckling. Lower right signed "AJK 2005" with embossed ZBC / ZB chop mark - both crisp (see close-up photos). Signature often misread as 2025 in photos but is 2005, consistent with late period. Frame: Original thin-profile silver finished wood frame, approx 1" deep. Light wear to finish at corners and edges with small scuffs - visible in tape measurement photos. Structurally sound, joints tight. Glazing: Glass glazed - clean, no cracks. Light surface scratches and reflections visible in photos. Verso / Backing: Original kraft dust cover backing. Retains original studio label "Arthur Krakower Nude 3" with printed ZB wreath crest. Backing paper shows age wear with tears at top and bottom edges and one small puncture hole on right side (see full back photo) - typical for estate storage. Retains faint handwritten estate inventory mark "959 B" in red. Label and crest intact and legible. Overall presents well for display. Framed, as found from private California collection.
