BOTH 12" LEAVES INCLUDED; extends from 64" closed to 88" with both leaves (photos show the table closed, without leaves). An oval extension dining table from Hickory Chair Company's James River Collection, with its maker's plaque ("Hickory Chair Company, Hickory, N.C. / The James River Collection"). It stands on four cabriole legs with carved knee returns and pad feet, under a scalloped apron and molded top edge.
Closed it measures 64" long, seating about 6; with one leaf it's 76", and with both leaves it extends to 88".
Hickory Chair's James River line is one of the company's longest-running traditional collections, and this oval-leg table is a versatile size: compact enough for everyday use and expandable for holidays. The underside of the table is stenciled "556 OVAL LEG TABLE CUTT 935" and the leaves "556 OVAL LEG TABLE CUTT FILLER 935" with the number "894-2".

The dark, glossy top has light surface scratches and some small pale specks, with no rings or veneer lifting visible in the photos. The molded rim of the top is rubbed in places with small nicks. The scalloped aprons look sound. The legs and apron show light scratches, and the pad-foot rims are worn. The two 12" leaves carry factory stencils and ink numbers on their undersides; the front leaf's apron edge has heavy pale scuffing. The underside has some stains. Leaf tops are not shown, so color match to the table is not confirmed, and no photo shows the table extended. Metal slides are visible underneath. Not described as refinished or restored.
