A spectacular and highly detailed vintage Chinese cloisonné rooster sculpture, sourced from a private collection. This vibrant piece is a brilliant display of traditional metalwork and enamel artistry.
Crafted from solid bronze, the rooster is finished with exquisite high-relief gilding on its head, beak, and the highly stylized tail feathers. Its body is covered in intricate cloisonné (wire-inlaid enamel) work, featuring a mesmerizing array of swirling floral and feather motifs in jewel tones of red, green, blue, and gold.
The rooster stands proudly on a heavily textured, gilded bronze base designed to resemble a rocky outcrop or natural terrain. Weighing an impressive 2.1 kg, this piece has a substantial, high-quality feel.
