Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay) – Olympic Era / Early Professional Career.

100% Authentic Original Ink, Pen & Graphite Drawing on paper. This is not a lithograph, print, or reproduction. Lithographs of this masterpiece were printed later; this is the primary source artwork.

Features the original factory blind-stamp (embossed seal) "STRATHMORE 500 SINCE 1892" in the corner, confirming premium 100% cotton artist paper used exclusively for original masterpieces.

Hand-signed by Gabe Perillo in the lower left corner with his signature flourish.

Professionally custom-framed during the artist's lifetime by "The Frame Game by Kristt Co." in Monticello, NY (features the vintage backing sticker with the historic 914 area code, placing the framing in the 1980s/1990s).

Gabe Perillo was known for capturing the raw energy of sports not just from reference, but through the deep personal inspiration of the golden era of boxing, translating the live atmosphere into his iconic ink work.

Dimensions: Image size 22" x 28" (Sight). Frame size approx. 28.75" x 35". Excellent vintage condition.

This artwork is sold in its authentic vintage condition as shown in the photos.

I currently have a second, companion original ink artwork by Gabe Perillo. It depicts the legendary 1947 World Middleweight Championship fight between Tony Zale and Rocky Graziano II. Both pieces were sourced together from the same prominent Upstate NY estate and feature matching vintage gallery frames. They make a spectacular pair for display. If you are interested in purchasing both as a set, please feel free to send an offer or message me directly. See less
