Bring a touch of heartwarming rustic charm to your space with this delightful vintage Shiwan Kiln glazed ceramic sculpture.
This piece beautifully captures a tender barnyard scene: a large, intricately detailed mother hen keeping a watchful eye over her three adorable chicks as they forage among green bamboo stalks and foliage. The earthy, naturalistic glazes in shades of brown, amber, and soft green highlight the exceptional, lifelike craftsmanship of traditional Chinese Shiwan pottery, from the textured feathers of the hen to the smooth surface of the bamboo.
In Chinese culture, the chicken (Ji) is a homophone for good luck, and a hen with chicks symbolizes a prosperous and harmonious family ("Quan Jia Fu"). Perfect for adding a cozy, farmhouse feel to a kitchen island, dining table, or sunroom, this sculpture is a wonderful statement piece for cottagecore, eclectic, or Chinoiserie decor.
