This 18-panel manuscript (includes the wooden end pieces) was made with gold lacquered palm leaves. The manuscript features square-shaped black lacquer sap sacred text and was used for monastic rituals. After layers of lacquer sap were applied patterns were sketched and gold leaf was eventually adhered. Then the script was applied by experts who used a type of stylus.
