Capture the vibrant energy of the Roaring Twenties with this exceptionally rare and highly sought-after antique cast iron doorstop. Titled "Charleston Dancers" (Catalog No. 270), this iconic piece was produced in the 1920s by the renowned Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
The piece was designed by the celebrated British-born illustrator Anne Harriet Fish (1890–1964), famed for her sophisticated, whimsical, and heavily stylized caricatures in Vanity Fair and Vogue during the Art Deco era. The doorstop depicts a fashionable flapper and her dapper partner locked in a spirited jazz-age dance, complete with her signature voluminous puffed skirt featuring bold swirl designs.
The front of the heavy base proudly displays the crisp, embossed copyright signature "© FISH". The back shows a classic hollow-back wedge casting typical of early 20th-century Hubley foundry manufacturing. This is an iconic, cross-collectible treasure perfect for enthusiasts of Art Deco design, vintage americana, folk art, or fine cast iron metalwork.
