The 602 series exemplifies the masterful symbiosis of functional simplicity, clear symmetry, and East German mid-century perfection. The timeless architecture of the piece offers a well-conceived combination of closed cabinet compartments, sliding-door display cases, and smooth-running drawers. A particularly special detail for collectors and connoisseurs is hidden in the construction of the drawer inserts: these are made entirely of wood, clearly identifying this piece as an early production from the late 1950s or early 1960s – shortly before the switch to plastic drawers in later series production. The historic Hellerau stamp, which has faded gently over the decades, is also located on the back. The light, finely grained ash wood gives the cabinet a warm and inviting look. The runners in the upper display section are intact, allowing the glass panels to move smoothly. Very practical for everyday use: two keys are provided for the lockable, concealed cabinet compartments. The highboard is in genuine, authentic vintage condition. We have sanded, thoroughly cleaned, and treated the surfaces; naturally, it shows subtle, age-related signs of wear that tell its story and are honestly documented in the photos.
