Depicting a quiet river landscape in ramsele, northern sweden, the work combines a soft scandinavian colour palette with loose, atmospheric brushwork and an open, flowing composition.

a winding river moves through gently elevated terrain, framed by slender trees and softened foliage. Distant hills recede in muted blue tones, while small red buildings punctuate the surrounding greens and earth tones.

the composition is lightly structured, with forms dissolving towards the edges and the handling of the paint remaining visible throughout. Greens, blues and warm earth colours shift subtly across the surface, creating depth without strong contrasts.

the restrained palette and simplified treatment of the landscape give the painting a distinctly nordic character typical of scandinavian mid-century landscape painting. Its quiet natural subject and muted colours also make it well suited to scandinavian, rustic, cottage and nature-inspired interiors.
