the composition depicts a tangle of horses and human figures, bodies overlapping and swept beneath a vermilion disk, a subject rooted in the apocalyptic and dantesque imagery that runs through the artist's entire sculptural production.

bardeggia trained at the institute of fine arts and the scuola del libro in urbino, and in the second half of the 1950s, he joined the molaroni ceramics factory in pesaro. In 1964, he opened his own studio with a kiln in cattolica, where he created unique glazed terracottas and bas-reliefs, exhibited in italy and abroad. He was named a knight of the italian republic and a commander of the order of st. Gregory the great.
