These charming figures, known in Italian as putti, reflect the rich tradition of Italian decorative sculpture, in which cherubs and angelic figures played an important role in both religious and secular artistic compositions. Each cherub is modeled in terracotta, a material particularly appreciated by Italian sculptors for its warmth, expressive qualities and ability to capture delicate sculptural details.
