Its slightly curved front has no visible openings or handles, emphasizing the purely aesthetic appeal and visual harmony of this unusual piece of cabinetmaking. The console is adorned with remarkable marquetry work, highlighting a central oval burlwood medallion surrounded by lighter geometric marquetry lines. The convex side panels feature the same refined decoration, while the upper section simulates a wide trompe-l'œil drawer front. The whole rests on a massive molded plinth, giving this piece a sculptural appearance, typical of classic Louis XVI-inspired furniture.
