Late Victorian Chippendale Revival architectural mirror, circa 1870–1895, featuring a deep ebonized-style wood finish, three beveled mirrors, and decorative display shelves.
The large central oval mirror is flanked by two shaped mirrors, with an elaborate scrolling crest, pierced fretwork, carved foliate detailing, and turned spindle supports. The nearly black finish has warm reddish-brown undertones.
Possibly originally the mirrored upper section of a Victorian sideboard or dressing cabinet. Its freestanding design allows for versatile placement above a mantel, console, or sideboard, or as a floor-level feature when properly secured.
Condition: Structurally sound and well preserved for its age. Minor surface wear, small areas of finish loss, a discreet chip along the upper edge, and limited age-related silvering loss to the mirrors, including one area approximately 2 inches across. One lower decorative corbel has detached; the original component is included for reattachment.
