An impressively large postmodern 1980s green ceramic glazed table lamp by François Châtain design studio. Very postmodern in style and geometric in shape, the François Châtain design studio was known for both traditional and avant-garde designs, creating unique and timeless objects to the highest quality.
The ceramic chards are in three different tones of green glaze, the lightest green has a lovely crackle glaze finish. It comes with a black steel shade, which is possibly a later addition, however works very well with the large proportions of the lamp base.
This is a show-stopping piece in great period condition without chips, and any minor marks are within the glaze. It has been professionally rewired with black twisted flex, inline switch and new black plug.
78cm high, 18cm base, 51cm shade, 57cm high without shade. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution,
UK Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
