Add a touch of Eastern mystique and protective energy to your space with this striking pair of vintage-style brass mythical beasts.
These figures, often referred to in the West as "Foo Dogs" (Guardian Lions) or "Pixiu" (a mythical creature believed to attract wealth in Feng Shui), are crafted from solid brass with a rich, warm, golden patina. They are depicted in a classic crouching, alert posture with their mouths open in a fierce, protective roar.
The detailing is wonderful, featuring bulging eyes, distinct fangs, and elegant, swirling cloud or flame motifs embossed on their chests. Their muscular haunches and clawed paws give them a powerful presence.
Whether used as heavy, impressive bookends, paperweights on a home office desk, or placed by an entryway as protective guardians, this pair is a stunning example of traditional Asian metalwork.
