This striking piece features a unique cylindrical body that is entirely covered in intricate, hand-chased relief patterns. The central focal point is a lobed cartouche containing a beautifully embossed mythical creature (possibly a dragon or Qilin) amidst swirling clouds. The piece is framed by borders of geometric and floral motifs.

The ewer is equipped with a sinuous, textured handle shaped like a dragon or serpent, seamlessly connecting to the base. The long, curved spout features a sculpted tip, while the elaborate, multi-tiered lid is topped with a dramatic, crown-like finial. The metal boasts a rich, warm, antiqued patina, giving it the look of a well-preserved antique.

This is a substantial, tactile piece that makes a magnificent statement on a bookshelf, console table, or as part of a Chinoiserie or Asian antiques collection. See less
