This charming original French oil painting captures rows of blooming lavender stretching across a sunlit field, with a picturesque village of red-roofed houses nestled beneath a soft blue sky. Painted with wonderfully expressive, textured brushstrokes, the lavender blossoms almost seem to rise from the canvas, while the buttery yellows, gentle greens, and touches of violet bring the countryside to life. The painting is nestled in its original deep wooden frame, beautifully finished in warm reddish-brown tones with a narrow gilt inner border. There’s something so cheerful and peaceful about this little landscape, like a summer afternoon spent wandering through the lavender fields of Provence.
