The sculpture depicts a traditionally dressed scholar or dignitary wearing a broad, rounded hat and a long robe, holding a slender green-colored object in front of his body. The carefully modeled figure features textured detailing on the garment and a clear, faceted crystal base that enhances its brilliance and visual presence.
The contrast between the transparent crystal and the subtle green accent lends the piece a distinctive character, while the sculptural form demonstrates the precision and artistry associated with fine French crystal production. The underside is stamped by Saint-Louis, confirming its maker. Measuring 5.3 inches tall with a base approximately 3 inches in diameter, this refined decorative figurine is well suited for display on a desk, bookshelf, mantel, or within a collection of fine French crystal and glass sculptures.
