These 2006 Shelton Mindel chairs are a blend of mid-century modern design and contemporary craftsmanship. These chairs are versatile enough to be used for dining, office or just as a pair of beautiful accent chairs. The lacquered bentwood frames and seat fabric has visible signs of age and use but are both in good solid structural condition. Valued for their aesthetic, comfort, and rarity this set can be refinished and reupholstered for a dynamic new custom look. The chairs also display two different hues not readily apparent by the photos but they both can be refinished to match one another. The Knoll manufacturer’s plaque is present on both chairs.

History:
These chairs were part of a mid-century modern inspired collection that blended clean lines, ergonomic comfort, and high-quality materials the hallmarks of Knoll’s design philosophy. Peter Shelton, in partnership with Lee Mindel, was the creative force behind the Shelton Mindel furniture line produced for Knoll in 2006. Shelton, who studied architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and Pratt Institute, worked for notable New York firms before founding Shelton, Mindel & Associates in 1978. The firm specialized in architectural, interior, and product design for corporate, cultural, academic, retail, hospitality, and residential clients.
