Possibly of Indo-Persian or Middle Eastern origin, this substantial piece reflects the rich artistic traditions of Islamic metalwork.

The central composition features an elaborate interlocking star motif surrounded by stylized flowers and scrolling foliage, all set against a finely textured background. A circular medallion at the center contains Arabic calligraphy, appearing to read al-rizq, meaning “sustenance” or “provision.” Concentric decorative borders and a raised, fluted rim complete the design.

Given its generous proportions, this tray may have originally rested atop a folding wooden stand, functioning as a traditional low serving table for tea, coffee, or meals. Today, it makes a beautiful decorative centerpiece or wall display.

Comparable antique Islamic brass trays of this type can carry retail asking prices around $3,000, particularly for larger, finely worked examples.
