Danish table lamp in drip-glazed stoneware, produced by Søholm on Bornholm in the 1960s. The underside is stamped "Made in Søholm Denmark."
The bottle-form body rises to a short neck and a rounded, rolled collar. The stoneware is coarsely grogged, giving the surface a sand-like texture with faint throwing lines visible throughout.
An amber and ochre glaze covers the neck and shoulder. Below it, dark brown runs fall unevenly down the body. The lower section is left largely unglazed and finishes on a plain foot ring.
Offered as the base only, fitted with a shade carrier. The earthy palette and tactile surface suit Danish Modern and Organic Modern interiors, and work equally well in a more rustic setting. It takes a pleated or linen shade easily. Compact and well scaled for a sideboard, desk or bedside table. This piece has an attribution mark,
