Late 19th/early 20th century english pine refectory table (provenance - charterhouse school)
a large and impressive english oak refectory table of 9 ft in length. The rectangular top has a moulded edge, raised on bold x-frame end supports, united by a long central stretcher. The table has a particularly pleasing simplicity of design, with good proportions and a warm, naturally aged colour throughout.
provenance:
the table comes from charterhouse school, one of england’s historic public schools, which moved from london to its celebrated godalming campus in the late nineteenth century.
