Designer: Josef Danhauser
Conceived in the spirit of early Biedermeier, this sewing table is described as dating from the 1820s in Austria. The design is attributed to Josef Danhauser, whose furniture is associated with the Biedermeier period.
The table is veneered in cherry wood with a distinctive grain. The rectangular upper section houses a sliding drawer fitted with decorative hardware, supported by curved legs forming a lyre-shaped cross-frame. A lower shelf completes the structure.
The item has undergone professional restoration, including thorough cleaning of the surfaces and revitalization of the original shellac polish. The restoration was carried out while preserving the historical patina and original details.
The sewing table can also be used as a side table in a salon, bedroom, or living room.
