The intricate composition features historic buildings, rustic stone walls, an arched wooden doorway, and a narrow staircase leading up through the winding alley.

The artist has skillfully used contrasting shades of warm amber, golden honey, reddish brown, and deep walnut to create remarkable depth, perspective, and architectural detail. Each element is formed from pieces of wood, allowing the natural grain and variations in tone to become an integral part of the image. The darker wooden frame beautifully complements the rich colours of the marquetry.

A distinctive example of decorative craftsmanship, this artwork combines the warmth of natural wood with the atmosphere of an old-world village. See less
