It would make a large chest of drawers suitable for a powerful samuari or talented geisha. Keyaki wood is the traditional lumber for Jōtō Tansu.

It is a good sized chest of drawers and restored to last another 100+ years See less

All drawers are working, the iron work is solid and appears to be handmade. The small cupboard section (Biraki) pops open easily to reveal 3 additional drawers. There are some dings and scratches typical of it's age that give it good character. The back has Japanese markings of the maker but also a large crack (as seen in the photos). It smells great. less
