Framed Acrylic on Canvas | 2019 | Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen "Autumn in Zuid-Beveland"
This original acrylic painting titled "Autumn in Zuid-Beveland" is by the contemporary Dutch artist Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen. The piece utilizes an exceptionally low horizon line, which is a signature element of her work to emphasize the massive, dramatic scale of the Dutch sky. The vast, heavy blanket of dark gradient green and blue clouds is punctured on the thin horizon line by a striking, vibrant pop of red roofs nestled in the grass. Housed in a thin modern black frame.
Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen is an independent contemporary artist, born 1944 in the Netherlands. Landscapes are her main subjects. She is known for her Zeelandic landscapes with a low horizon line and impressive sky.
