A beautiful vintage Italian ashtray crafted from Murano opaline glass, with a wonderfully saturated turquoise blue body surrounded by warm golden metalwork. The opaque glass has a luminous, almost jewel-like quality, beautifully contrasted by the finely detailed surround and sculptural cigarette rests.

Petite in scale but exceptionally decorative, this piece brings a concentrated flash of Mediterranean color to a collected interior. Its combination of brilliant aqua tones and aged gold feels particularly striking alongside antique books, marble, dark timber and other layered objects.

Originally created as a smoking accessory, it can now be repurposed beautifully as a jewelry dish, bedside catchall, vanity accessory or small decorative vessel. Equally compelling simply displayed as an objet on a console, drinks trolley or coffee table.

A lovely example of Italian decorative glass with the rich coloring and glamorous character that makes vintage Murano pieces so desirable. The first photo uses AI to enhance the lighting and setting.
